Policies
Xyon is a democratic business. All decisions made regarding the business, processes, policies, membership, and any financial decisions must be done through the online voting system.
Invoicing
- Invoices have a due date of the 20th of the next calander month.
- Overdue invoices are charged at a daily compounding rate of 5% per month, charged immediately.
Membership
- A membership charge of $0.125 per share owned will be charged each month.
Proposing a Vote
- All votes should be worded as simply as possible, avoiding double negatives or ambiguous wording.
- Anyone can make a proposal at anytime, and there is no limit on the number of concurrent proposals.
- All proposals should be one or two sentences long. Additional information can be provided in a separate posting.
- The default voting period is seven days, although one can make this longer if required. Reducing it to less than 7 days would require a separate vote to ammend the current rule.
- Proposals must be worded so that a yes/no (thumbs up/down) response clearly and satisfactorily answers the proposal.
- Proposals must be worded so that a majority no response results in no change to the current situation.
- Proposals are posts with a rating system enabled. By selecting the Proposals category during a post, this is automatically enabled for 7 days with a running total provided.
Voting
- Each member is entitled to one vote only, although you may abstain from any vote.
- A vote may only be Yes (thumbs up) or No (thumbs down).
- All votes are anoymous.
- No additional information is required in a vote posting, however you are free to discuss your vote prior to or after casting, but this must be done in the comments section of the proposal and not the original post.
- Any attempts to corrode the voting system will vitiate the current proposal and result in an immediate suspension of membership of the offending party.
Concluding a Vote
- Once the voting period has closed a proposal may be acted upon immediately.
- A proposal has passed if greater that 50% of the votes are Yes.
- If the vote is an exact 50/50 split, the current proposal has failed and the recommended course of action is a re-proposal.
- Less than 50% of Yes votes is a failed proposal (ratings less than 1), which will be archived and not acted upon.
